Prolific engineer, artist and scenographer, Ary Perez has been increasingly
involved in cultural activities since 1985. Undergraduate by the University of
Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he has worked as a teacher, and graduate by the
Architectural Association (AA) in London, Ary Perez currently develops
researches on the subject of design. He also participates in group studies with
Brazilian artists and he is a regular collaborator in projects with international
artists and designer such as Vito Acconci, Rem Koolhas, Ingo Maurer, and
Krizystof Wodiczko.
Ary Perez develops his projects in several art institutions as the International
Bienal of Sao Paulo, Bienal of Mercosul, and in national and international
museums, such as the Museu de Arte Contemporanea and Art Institute of
Chicago, MAM, MAC, MIS, SESC, Pinacoteca do Estado de Sao Paulo and
EXPO 2000 in Hannover. He has also participated in a number of exhibitions
with Denise Milan, his partner, for instance, in the creation of a public
sculpture for the Americas’ Courtyard of Chicago in 1998. He has participated
and coordinated the project Artecidade Zona Leste, which has received great
attention by national and international press.
Since 2002, Ary Perez produces and manages huge exhibitions. In 2005, he
makes the scenography for the exhibition ‘Amazon – Reality and Future’ at
the Palais de la Découverte, in Paris. In 2007, organizes "Amazon Forest
& Climate", exhibition at ONU’s building in New York. In 2009, manages "Jews
in the Amazon" at Center of Jewish Culture in São Paulo. In 2010, develops
the big exhibition "Energia" at SESC Interlagos in São Paulo.
He currently concentrates his works on the edges of Art and Science.
